Everyone is uniquely created and designed for a purpose, so is each Church. Destination Church was established in January 2014 with the vision of "Changing People's Destination; Improving the Journey!" God gave us this vision for the purpose of reaching those who have never been in church or who have simply fallen away from attending church regularly...To change their destination from eternity in Hell to eternal life in Heaven...And to help grow and improve the body of Christ in their daily journey. We do this in the best way we know how, by being real and following what the Bible says. We are a non-denominational church. We call ourselves a Bible believing group and we do our best to stick to that title and glorify God in all that we do.
The saying, "come as you are", fits Destination Church, not just in attire but also in your life. We believe that what God said about King David is still true, "People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." We are a casual church because it is not about what we can see outwardly but what God is doing on the inside. Come as you are applies to where you are in life too. Destination Church is not a perfect place filled with perfect people, we are like a hospital for the sick, those dying in their sin and in need of spiritual healing. We want to be the church where you don't have to change into a perfect person to walk through our doors. Instead you can come in to find the forgiveness, grace and love through the sacrifice of Jesus. Along the journey, it is our goal to walk along side each other as we grow in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that, as we become disciples of Jesus, we are able to learn to lead others to become disciples of Jesus as well.
Our founding Pastor, Lee Whitaker, has a decades long background in musical performance and it's reflected in our style of worship. Our desire is to connect with individuals on their level and to lead them to a place of praise and glorifying God through contemporary worship and scriptural teachings. We want to display who God created us to be in all aspects of what we do.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
